Cyberpartygal.com on Alexa

February 4, 2007 – 1:39 am

Finally, my domain is tracked on Alexa. For the uninitiated, Alexa is the authority on web traffic.

It is weird that despite purchasing the domain name in July, 2006 and leaving it all over the internet and pointing to my Webstore, Alexa and Google could not trace my link. They thought that my domain did not exist.

In December of 2006, I bought a hosting plan and started to add a couple of sub-domains to it. The sub-domains were indexed pretty fast and this domain was spidered as well.

In the most recent Google Page Rank update in late January, 2007, Google even gave my domain a generous Page Rank of 3, though the Page Rank for sub-domains remained at ZERO.

As soon as I had a webhost package linked to my domain name, my web stats started showing which site referred the browser. Previously, no matter where the browser clicked at my link from, they all showed only one referral: the host of my store.

I’m glad the mystery has been solved now. And now, onwards to an Alexa climb!

  3. Hi exkay, Thanks for dropping by. Come to think of it, yup, the two buttons are missing. Maybe it’s a plugin? I’ll have to figure it out.
