On Poslaju Rates
February 24, 2007 – 11:49 pmPos Malaysia has started to enforce Poslaju shipping rates according to weight AS WELL AS by the volume. This actually has been in place a long time like any other private courier company but it is only recently that Pos Malaysia is enforcing it.
If your parcel dimension, whether the length, width or height, exceeds twelve inches, it will be charged by the volume, ONLY if the volume rate is greater than the rate by weight.
To find out the volumetric weight of your parcel, here is the formula:
Length x Width x Height in centimetres / 6000 = Volumetric Weight in kilograms
Luckily for my buyers and I, most of my packages are light and do not exceed twelve inches in length, so I guess I have nothing to worry about. I’d hate to see an increase in shipping charges for my buyers.
