Poslaju Network Offline
February 26, 2007 – 7:21 pmToday, for the first time since I ventured into e-trading in end of 2004, the Poslaju network is offline. I do not know if it’s city wide, state wide or nationwide, but the point is, I could not ship out my Poslaju packages.
For the past 2.5 years since I started my eCommerce business, I have used primarily Poslaju and it has rarely let me down. If it’s not Poslaju, it is some other delivery services offered by Pos Malaysia. During this time, I have used a private courier company less than five times.
While I go to the post office about four times a week on the average, I have never encountered such a glitch before. Since I could not send out the packages, I called up a few private courier companies and asked if they could come over to pick up my packages. They said they will only do so for corporate accounts and not for individuals.
I could also open an account with DHL and such, but my sales volume is not big enough to warrant that. It IS big enough if I accumulate my packages and ship out once or twice a week but then my buyers would have to wait for their purchases and I do not want that to happen.
The network was still down by 4pm, so I had to unpack the packages and ship them out by Pos Ekspres. Hopefully the service is back tomorrow.
