Panty Buying Experience
April 8, 2007 – 7:47 pmA few days ago, I went to a local lingerie shop in a major shopping mall to buy a piece of panty. I only wanted one piece as I wanted to match it with a particular top to make one lingerie set.
I have actually gone to a few places but could not find a suitable one so I was very happy when I finally found a matching panty. They were actually selling in packs of three, but I only wanted one and the sales promoter told me that she can sell it to me.
She thought that she was selling at MYR25 for four pieces and that makes it MYR6.25 each. So I said I will take it.
While writing a receipt to me, she discovered that she made a mistake and that she is actually selling it in threes and not fours. So I said, OK, it may be a little more expensive but I am willing to buy it.
However, she said that MYR25 divided by three is MYR8.333 each and she is not able to sell it to me because she cannot accept the MYR0.333. So I told her that I will round up the figure. That’s what we all do, don’t we? I could pay MYR8.35 or MYR8.40 but she was adamant that she is not going to sell it to me because she cannot “write the sales report”.
And I was like, “But I’m giving you more!?!”
She kept saying that she can only sell it if the sum ends with a 5 or 10sen. Well, in the end, I did not manage to buy my item and she lost a sale.
I keep thinking, “What stupid policy is that??”
