Selling In Fewer Places

April 14, 2007 – 6:04 pm

As you may already know, I sell in quite a handful of trading forums, apart from the two most popular auction boards, eBay Malaysia and Lelong.com.my

Since the beginning of the year, I have been selling in fewer places, though. That is because the administrators of these boards have decided to clean up the forums and do away with the less popular sections.

And then there was a forum that kept getting shut down by its host for publishing pornographic-like images and videos. I actually spent quite a bit of time listing and relisting my items for sale there but the forum kept getting shut down and I had to do the work all over again until I gave up. Thankfully, my work was not wasted as I managed to secure a few sales from there.

I think that although it is good that I am selling in fewer places which means less places for me to keep track of, it will not do my sales good because I am ever hopeful that as long as my items are displayed to the members, I would one day be able to clinch a sale or two.

I may not have sold anything on those forums NOW, but as new members register themselves daily, I have a new chance, a new hope of securing a sale. Don’t you think so?
