AmBank NexG Prepaid MasterCard Also Can
May 8, 2007 – 12:14 amSomeone asked me if she MUST use Public Bank Debit Card to link to her PayPal account. Of course not! I suggested debit cards because it is by far safer than linking a credit card online. Debit cards carry lower risk and one does not need to worry about identity theft and what not.
Besides Public Bank Debit Card, AmBank’s NexG Prepaid MasterCard works just as well.
If you do not know how NexG works, well, you can actually purchase your starter pack from any 7-11 outlet for only MYR25. This pack comes with the card and an application form. Sign on the reverse of the card, fill out the form and send or fax it to AmBank to register your card.
You can also go personally to the nearest AmBank Branch. While you are there, remember to apply for AmBank online banking facilities. Verification and activation of your card require a few days but once that is done, you can top up your card and start paying for your purchases.
Prepaid debit cards are hassle-free and no income qualification is required. So once it is activated and topped up with funds, you can link it to your PayPal account.

i had trying to link my nexg card but paypal had declined that card. Why?

Hi Fadilah,
Have you activated your card and informing AmBank that you would be using your card for online transactions?
If you have, it should work. Also, make sure that you have the expiry month and year correct.
