Ask Before Bidding
May 19, 2007 – 1:34 amI am sure I have written about this issue before where people tend to put in a bid as soon as they see a low price for an auction item. It is very important to get all the facts right first before bidding, especially if you are buying from an international seller and your item will require international shipping. As you know, shipping charges are the killer and you don’t want to be surprised by that, do you?
Since the time when I bidded before getting clarification on the condition of the item and I was luckily let off the hook by the kind Seller without a negative feedback, I have been very careful when it comes to buying. No longer do I let myself be pressured into bidding by the clock ticking towards the end of the auction. Now I know that if the item is unsold, the Seller will surely relist. I can wait.
When I request for further clarification, I do not bid if the Seller does not reply in a timely manner or is rude. When I stay away from bidding, I am actually avoiding potential problems.
Sure, I do not know IF there will be any problems, but I like to be safe. If I am not comfortable in the initial stage, why should I put my head further in?
