Email Response Time
May 27, 2007 – 8:15 amI receive quite a number of email enquiries and social mails on a daily basis. As an etrader, business emails come first, of course. I always try my best to reply as fast as I can and my Buyers have told me many times that when they email me, they know that they can expect an instant response. I remember there were only twice when I did not reply as early as I would like to and both times, I had sent my computer to the repair shop, hence the delay, but not for long too, as I have a back up computer!
However, sometimes I wonder why companies do not reply their email quickly and sometimes not at all. I once wrote about a guy that I know through the internet who is into business for himself. Until today, he did not reply my email enquiry.
This week, I experienced the same thing again. I wrote in to two companies who are offering the same service, seeking clarification on certain matters. One of them, Company A, replied a few hours earlier than its competitor, Company B. So I followed up these email replies with more questions. Company A replied while Company B did not. Well, today is the third day of not hearing from them, and I am assuming they will NOT be replying.
This makes me wonder. Do they want to do business or not? Naturally, Company A gained my business.
