PayPal Acceptable Use Policy

May 19, 2007 – 11:00 am

I have to admit, without this problem with PayPal, I would not have read the fine lines of its Policy. By the way, I never bother with ANY User Agreement or Terms of Use until problems crop up.

Now that it has been so long since the day we were stopped from accepting payments without a US bank account, I am starting to have my doubts again if this is “just” a technical glitch, though I PRAY that it is!

I went to read the whole PayPal User Agreement over. Yes, there were updates to the Agreement but nothing was mentioned about any drastic policy changes that we are currently experiencing.

If I had thought that PayPal is purposely giving us international users a hard time, I came across this blog post “Paypal and more ugh….” by Loretta. It looks like the PayPal garden is not as rosy anymore.

Anyway, while reading through the fine lines of PayPal’s User Agreement, I came across PayPal Acceptable Use Policy, modified on 11th January, 2007. There is a long list of things that we CANNOT use PayPal to accept funds for.

One of them is, which I already knew, is MLMs or pyramid Schemes. Violation of use will cause the PayPal account to be restricted, suspended or terminated altogether. Tread with caution!

  5. I don’t know. Hope they will. The problem is, we can’t even DENY our pending payments without a US bank account.
