So Much At Stake
May 16, 2007 – 7:04 amAs we enter into the sixth day of not being able to accept our pending payments on PayPal, it is getting worrisome. For one, I am an online trader and for heaven’s sake, PayPal is the only online payment option I offer to international buyers.
I have so many pending payments accumulated to as much as a salesgirl’s monthly pay that I have stopped counting altogether.
As an etrader, not only is my money at stake, so is my reputation. I have always felt nervous with PayPal having read about people’s bad experiences with their account, that’s why I cash out pretty quickly and am reluctant to keep too much in there for long periods of time. I guess this episode, although the only issue since the first day I have my PayPal account, just drives home the point.
After so many days, and being told that the technical department of PayPal is aware of this global problem affecting perhaps millions of international users, it is hard to fathom why there is no official announcement from PayPal to acknowledge this issue openly, instead of making us write in and replying one by one by the Customer Service department.
With so much at stake, perhaps it is time to look at other payment options.
