The Role of The Mystery Shopper
May 24, 2007 – 12:16 pmI have wanted to be a mystery shopper for the longest time but living in a backwater town, there is never an opportunity for me to be one. In any case, this is not something common even in Kuala Lumpur.
Have you ever wondered why we need mystery shoppers? If large Malaysian corporations are willing adopt the services of the mystery shopper then they can improve their customer service and hence indirectly improve their business and profit.
A mystery shopper is paid to shop and dine at a specified location and then he or she has to write a detailed report on what happened during that time. Some of the things that have to be observed are the attitude of the staff and the kind of service that was given and received.
A mystery shopper needs to have darn good memory so that this report can be written at home, in private. You wouldn’t want people to KNOW that you are going undercover, do you?
The best thing about being a mystery shopper is that you get paid to dine and shop at your favourite places and you get to keep your purchases too.
