Trade Your Funds With Care

May 15, 2007 – 9:30 am

It has come to my attention that since this fiasco with PayPal, there have been people going around forum boards and blogs offering to purchase Paypal funds from people who are stuck in the predicament. Well, I am sure that these people know that we currently are not able to accept payments to our account.

So the fact that we are unable to accept funds means that we naturally do not have a US bank account linked to our PayPal.

Genuine of not, no way am I going to test them out, but as a word of caution, it is better to have your funds safe and sound IN PaypPal than to lose your hard-earned money to strangers. When you trade your PayPal funds, it is against the Terms of Service of PayPal although PayPal says that you can send your funds to people who have a US bank account on file. Yes, ironic, I know.

Anyway, when you send your PayPal funds out, you are on the losing end UNTIL your trader deposits the money to your local bank. Obviously, you only do this with people whom you know and can trust.

  2. I still trade them and at least I already get the money from them in my account before sending my paypal to them. The funny thing is that those people also cannot accept my paypal transfer coz they are facing the same problem too. So they pay me first and like us, they have to wait till we can accept payments.

  3. Irene, I think you have a better deal than me but I dare not send funds to too many people lest PayPal sets restrictions on my account.

I am very nervous with Paypal. Hope the problem is solved ASAP!

  4. I didn’t send a lot to people too. I only send to those that I trust, once in a blue moon… I hope it will solve soon too :( sigh… If not I really don’t know where all those PPP posts money will go to, there are quite a lot of money in there.

  5. I did write in to PPP asking them to issue us an eCheck so that the payments will be deposited into our accounts directly. I am still awaiting their reply.

Since this is affected so many members, I believe they will give us a workaround *keeping my fingers crossed*
