Update On PayPal - Is It “Just” A Technical Glitch?

Many of us were sprung a surprise last night when we were asked by PayPal to enter a US Bank account to accept payments. I believe we are all very angry about it because nobody likes surprises when it comes to money.

I shot PayPal an email last night as soon as I found out the problem via the webform and this is the reply I received ten minutes ago.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us with your concerns. I am happy to assist you further.

PayPal system is updating these days, that may be the reason you are
asked to add a bank account when you accept payment.

Please try again at a later time to check whether this problem is fixed or not.

Sorry for any inconvenience that may cause you.

To be honest, I never expected a personalized reply, let alone a reply within hours. Previously, all I ever got were canned messages to my queries.

Their reply calmed my nerves a little. I hope this is just a technical glitch. The problem I faced last night trying to verify my Visa card when I added a new address and linking my credit card to my new address has been solved when I try it once more this morning.

Hopefully we can see some positive developments within a couple of days.
