Bending Backwards For Buyers

June 6, 2007 – 10:14 am

Many of my fellow Sellers do their best to meet customers’ demands. However, it is sad to note that Buyers take advantage of our good service by placing demands on us even when things are not in our control. For example, these Buyers do not understand that once a package is shipped out, we do not have control over it. It is then up to the Buyer to ensure that they receive the package safely and should it be so unlucky to have been damaged during delivery, to inform us promptly of the new development.

There are cases where Buyers will just place a negative feedback on the Seller even before reporting of damaged goods. Who knows? Sellers may offer an exchange or a refund so why place a negative and then close your own door?

There are cases where Buyers will only report that an item has been damaged during delivery MONTHS after the item has been delivered. Isn’t that fishy? In such a case, no sane Seller will offer an exchange.

Many Sellers have shared with me that Buyers are getting more and more difficult to please. We do aim to do our best for business. However, it is only possible to please somebody some of the time but not everyone all the time.

Buyers like these are the ones who leave a sour taste to a transaction. Luckily, I have met more reasonable Buyers than difficult ones although I have met my share of them but they are not that many to put me out of business. Not just yet.
