Fantastic 5 X PayPal Phishing Attempts

June 18, 2007 – 6:11 pm

Yesterday was an amazing day. In less than 24 hours, I received a total of five PayPal phishing emails. Fortunately, I already reported the first mail to spoof@paypal.com and as usual, reply was very fast. The mail was confirmed to be a fraudulent email less than five minutes after I forwarded the whole mail to them.

Among these five mails, three of them threatened to restrict my account if I do not update my personal information, one warned me that there have been suspicious log in attempts from different locations and one urged me to upgrade to a Business account but I very much doubt if they know the real status of my PayPal account.

For the past month, I feel that this problem has gotten more serious. I have been receiving such emails from “PayPal”, “eBay” and even the “Bank of America” but luckily each has been duly identified but still, it is disturbing to receive such alert warnings that threaten to limit or close my “account”.

I wonder if other people are facing the same problem as well!
