Holiday - Agung’s Birthday
June 2, 2007 – 2:36 pmToday, the first Saturday of the month of June, is the official birthday of D.Y.M.M. Yang Dipertuan Agung. Because it falls on the first Saturday of the month, which is already normally an off day for civil servants, I believe that Monday is also a substitute holiday. I am not so sure though so correct me if I am wrong.
I usually just live one day at a time without looking too far into the future.
Anyway, there shall be no shipping today and Sunday and perhaps even Monday, if it really is a substitute holiday. Shipping resumes on Monday though it is business as usual at Cyberpartygal’s WebStore.
My foreign friends have been rather amazed that we get to enjoy so many national and state holidays throughout the year. They wonder how work can be completed if we keep getting breaks and off time from work.
I used to joke with them that in Malaysia, we get half the year off! Seriously, we do have almost 30% of the year holidaying, celebrating some festivities or resting on Sundays. How good life is in Malaysia hehe
While it is great that we are given so many off days, the disadvantage is that people tend to be offline during the holidays hence internet business is slower than usual. But I am not complaining!
