I’m Not Trying To Be Difficult
June 21, 2007 – 1:10 pmReally I AM NOT! As you know, I bought a Nokia E61i recently and it is one of my most expensive purchases. Man, it currently retails at MYR1799. So, after taking it home and using it, I discovered that when I am typing an SMS or using the Notes or even switching from one screen to another, the screen flashes at the bottom. This is certainly not normal. I know because I have friends using this model as well and I have tried their unit out prior to buying my own.
Also, clarity of voice calls was so poor that I could hardly talk without the other party interrupting me with “Hah, what?”
I called up Nokia Careline and was advised to go to the nearest Nokia Care Centre to have it looked at since these problems are not something that could be troubleshooted over the phone.
So I went to Nokia Care Centre and they told me that I have to leave my phone for them to check. However, when I went to collect my phone, they only upgraded my firmware and changed my speaker. Nothing was done about my flashing screen.
I am very dissatisfied with my purchase because they do not have a solution for me. The speaker is better but I still hear “charge” sounds like electricity short circuit. It may be caused by my telecommunications provider and I am willing to let it slide.
However, what bothers me is the flash at the screen. I also tried to use my device as a modem, which was the main reason I bought this model since not every phone can support this feature. Anyway, not even twenty minutes of using it, I had to unplug because it was burning hot. I could not even touch it without risking burns to my hands.
My model is an enterprise unit. I use it primarily for work and it is not letting me work. So how now? I really don’t want to bug the people fielding my calls at the Nokia Careline or the Nokia Care Centre. I also don’t want to keep bugging Celcom to increase the 3G signal in my area. I don’t have time for all these shit, seriously. Why can’t they just give me a functional unit and let me use it as it should be used?
I want to claim warranty because I have only bought my phone on 13th June, 2007 and it is not performing as it should. Let’s see if they allow me to claim warranty or not or are they going to make life more difficult for me?
An unhappy customer can do lots of things and none of them are pretty.
