Notice: PayPal Data Center Upgrade
June 10, 2007 – 2:28 pmI received an email from PayPal that they will be holding a data center upgrade which will cause a system-wide service interruption on Tuesday, 19th June, 2007 from 12 noon onwards, Malaysian time.
During this time, PayPal services will not be accessible and payments cannot be processed. Since my WebStore uses PayPal to process payments and credit card charges, business will affected too and customers who attempt to make payments via PayPal during this scheduled down time will be redirected to an official PayPal announcement.
The email notification mentions the estimated time of two hours that it will take for the upgrade to complete and assures that service will resume normally once completed. In any case, I am going to clear my funds from PayPal first to prevent it from being locked should the upgrade take longer than expected.
I wonder if I have to change my PayPal gateway settings after the upgrade. I hate meddling with my settings because it would mean plenty of testing AGAIN!
