PayPal Means Business
June 16, 2007 – 9:47 amDid you hear about the many accounts that PayPal closed which are linked to the sale of the 7 Dollar Script sometime last week? Apparently, it is against the acceptable use policy of PayPal to sell something non-physical. In the case of the 7 Dollar Script, Sellers are selling the script that the Buyer can use to make an exact copy of the 7 Dollar sales page and pitch the same sales pitch to some other people who would then buy this script and make an exact website. Well, you get the picture.
Isn’t it already general information that PayPal does not tolerate multi-level-marketing? I don’t know if the 7 Dollar programme could be considered as MLM but sellers of the 7 Dollar script has already violated the rules of not linking the sales to a real physical product.
On top of this, Sellers of the 7 Dollar Script also force their buyers to opt-in to their mailing list after a sale is concluded to claim their purchase. Well, you know internet marketers really try all sorts of tricks to get as many people signed on to their mailing list as possible because the money is in the list. This is definitely frowned upon by PayPal.
If you are an internet marketer running a similar business model, perhaps you would want to analyse the workings of your own model so as not to violate the terms and rules set out by PayPal or any other payment processor. Hopefully this is a lesson well-learnt by all PayPal users.
