Lelong’s RM1.00 Auction for Friends!
July 24, 2007 – 12:18 amLast week, I received an email circular from Lelong with the subject title “RM1.00 Auction for Friends!” and it screams 1st online PC Fair! RM1 auctions?!? That caught my attention indeed!
I was curious what the items on auction are so I “clicked on the poster” to check what all the hoo-haa is about and was greeted by the following words: Welcome to Lelong HotDeals.
Upon further reading, I was disappointed to know that these auctions are only open to members who have registered with Lelong after 17th July, 2007. These promotional auctions are offered by Lelong, which means Lelong is the Seller.
Why the double standard? Are newbies more valuable that they have to have their own cheap items to bid on? Or do they need to be babied and have their own playground? Lelong the Seller do have pretty good products on their inventory, mostly electronic items, and it looks as though they are going to be very successful with the campaign.
But why not open up to the rest of us, eh? Oh yeah, one more thing, who does the word “Friends” here refer to? Do they mean the newbies?
W.E.I.R.D!
