PayPal’s Annual Privacy Policy Notice
July 23, 2007 – 10:13 amLast week, I, and all PayPal users, received an email from PayPal regarding its annual privacy policy notice. PayPal occasionally sends out such emails to us, which I like because I am KEPT INFORMED of any changes in Policy of Use and terms without having to read the pages every time I log into my account.
One would think that should a company changes its rules or terms, a similar circular would have been sent out to all members but not all companies operate like this. And if there is an exceptionally important notice, a small pop up window upon logging into an account would have been most certainly welcomed.
I normally do not like reading long documents on the computer screen but since I had nothing better to do, I took my time reading PayPal’s policy notice. I am glad to see that this time, they worded the document in easy to understand English. There is no need to use legalese to reach out to the masses, if you know what I am saying.
I applaud PayPal’s move in bringing us a document that is easy to understand and to lay out the policy with easy to digest explanation for each point.
