Price Haggling

July 7, 2007 – 2:00 am

Well, I always claim of having the opportunity to meet all sorts of people being in this trade. Nothing much surprises me anymore. If you are also a Seller like me, have you met people who show interest in your item, haggle with you on the price and then place an order? When it comes to payment time, you don’t even see his shadow?

I have met quite a few and the only reason I can think of is that they have changed their mind which is not a crime but they should have the decency to let the Seller know about it so that the Seller will not reserve the item for them while waiting for payment to come through.

Don’t you think so? However, the Chinese has this saying that one type of rice can produce a hundred kinds of people, so what I think is the proper way to go about canceling an order may not be what others think as well. Some people prefer to stay silent.

In my opinion, if the Buyer has no intention to see through the sale then why haggle the price? I do sometimes accede to such request just so that we have close the deal and both parties are happy that there is a conclusion but I think that Malaysians still think that online buying is a game.
