The Hardest Part
July 18, 2007 – 2:46 pmSomeone asked me what the hardest thing for an etrader is. After thinking for a long time, I would say, it is not the procurement, the marketing, the selling the customer service or balancing of books.
To me, the hardest aspect of being an etrader is when the item has been shipped and I have to wait for the feedback from my customer. Like I mentioned, once the package leaves my hands, it is out of my control. So I hold my breath until the package is reported to have arrived safely in the hands of the intended.
Secondly, I would need to wait for the feedback of my Buyer. Did the item(s) arrive safely or in pieces? Is (s)he satisfied with the purchase? Are there any complaints?
See, these are only some of the things that I have to encounter and think of some form of damage control. Being an online seller, where items are marketed online and the Buyers, especially first timers, do not have the chance to even touch the item, trust is what made them committed their money on my products.
To me, a successful sale is when both the Buyer and the Seller are satisfied with the outcome.
