Cash Deposit Machines
August 6, 2007 – 11:44 amWhat is the use of a cash deposit machine when it is always out of service? Last evening, I was desperate to deposit some cash to my debit card as I wanted to make an online purchase. I went to the bank near my house and the machine was down. I did not have time to go to town though, and I did not even know if the other branches in town have cash deposit machines so I did not try.
I called my friend to help me deposit MYR100 or MYR150 to my account. I have discussed it with him the night before but he had to go to Genting the following day.
He said that if I need his help, let him know by 1pm but I did not want to bother him unnecessarily, so at 7pm, I went to do it myself but dammit the solitary machine was down.
So then I asked for my friend’s help but he was not back from Genting yet until after 11pm and the darn ATM cubicles will be locked at midnight. My friend had to rush to the nearest one and the stupid machine was down too!
Can you believe it? Machines in Ipoh and KL were down at the same time. And I wonder where else too!
And lest you wonder why I did not ask other friends to help me, I only know of this friend who has the same account as myself and hence, only he knows how to operate this cash deposit machine and deposit cash into our debit accounts.
In the end, I have no choice but to deposit over the counter this morning. Dang!
