Celcom Barred My Line, Dammit!

August 30, 2007 – 12:03 am

Two moths ago, when I first migrated my Celcom prepaid mobile line to postpaid plus a 3G subscription, I wrote about almost touching my credit limit every month. Well, this time, they barred my line. I just find it totally dumb because the bill has just reached me for one day and the next, I was barred.

Moreover, my bill was only MYR122.39, still lower than the limit of MYR150 per month. Just because the bill has yet to arrive, and I made incurred new charges on the new month, they added everything together and say that I have exceeded MYR150.

What nonsense since the bill is only due on 10th Sepetember, 2007!

So after finding out that my line is barred, I called up their Careline at 1111 and told them I would like to increase my credit limit. They mentioned this on the bill, so I did so. They told me that to increase my credit limit from the default MYR150 per month I would have to be a subscriber for at least four months. I only subscribed to them since mid June and that means I would have to suffer this at least till the end of October. Well, it is still better than one who year as I had thought previously.

Every month end, I pay all my bills at the post office but since the post office will take some time to send in their payment collection to the respective companies, I thought I would settle it via Maybank2u but no go, they wanted TAC and my mobile number is not registered with them. Neither do I have access to telephone banking. What hassle!

Since I wouldn’t have the time to go to the Celcom office in town today, my friend proposes to pay on my behalf through the cash deposit machine which I was told is open 24 hours. I would then have to call up Celcom and ask them to reinstate my line. I don’t know how long this will take but this is the fastest way. I just wish that I would soon have a higher credit limit! UUgghh!
