First Hand Information

August 28, 2007 – 5:08 am

Earlier this year, I wanted to register with a company but it is not easy because I am a Malaysian living in Malaysia. I asked a couple of questions in a forum and the members were telling me that I have to go over to the said country before I could even think of getting this account.

Many people even thought that I was stupid to think that I am able to get it done but I thought that it would be better to get an answer straight from the horse’s mouth.

I believe that if you want something done, it is better to depend on yourself. Why ask in a forum when everyone is as blur as I am? I picked up the phone and called long distance to ask all my questions and received the reply that I am satisfied with.

Yes, it could be done but the process is tiresome. All in all, it took me two long months (and this is the short cut way already, can you imagine?) and a few hundred bucks to get my documents in order.

Finally, after much hassle, stress, long distance calls and numerous email messages, I managed to receive the approval. Boy, was the feeling great.

My point is, don’t go around asking people who are not in authority to give you a definite answer. Don’t let anyone tell you that something is not possible until you have the reply from source. And this reply, you have to get it yourself. There is no point in getting second hand information which may or may not be accurate.
