Focus On Solutions

August 14, 2007 – 12:12 pm

This morning, I received an inspiring story from a friend. He knows that I’ve been having a tough time at work. What was in his mail was, “If you look at what you do not have in life, you don’t have anything. If you look at what you have in life, you have everything.”

The email my friend sent to me says that if we have a problem, we should focus on the solution and not the problem itself. It cited a couple of instances in history where people focused on the solutions and came up with unnecessary solutions.

On the other hand, people who focused on the solutions could find a better way to solve a problem without wasting time, energy, money and resources. Sometimes, the solution is just in front of our eyes but since we focused on the wrong thing, we could not see it.

After reading this email, I am going to make the extra effort to solve problems without going on big round and come up with an extraordinary solution when a simple one is just as effective.
