Lelong Promotes Pretty.com.my
August 18, 2007 – 10:48 amA few days ago, I received an email circular from Lelong regarding a lucky draw that they are running. Every day, all Lelong members who bought $20 worth of products from Pretty.com.my, a sub section of the Lelong marketplace, would be entered into a lucky draw and stand a chance to win RM5000 worth of free gifts. This contest is running for the entire month of August, 2007. Gifts are not identified up front, though.
While I am fine with receiving such notices from Lelong bias-ly promoting only one section of the marketplace, I wonder what sort of marketing they are doing sending out this email in the middle of the month which means the contest has been running for half the time already. What bad planning.
Also, I wish Lelong would buck up their use of English for Pretty.com.my. It’s bad enough that their URL is PRETTY.COM.MY and it is bad enough that they are using English and Chinese for the site but please, use proper English.
I still don’t understand why female sellers are not included in this section BY DEFAULT. Why are we required to write in to book a spot? Well, I did not write in. I certainly do not wish to associate my site with Pretty bad English with stores selling CLOTHS when they actually really mean CLOTHES.
