No Email Address

August 5, 2007 – 12:09 pm

The other day, I shopped at an online store that is based in the USA. I actually wanted to pay by PayPal but when I was checking out, I realise there was no such option. They only accept credit cards.

I spent almost thirty minutes trying to locate their contact information but I was directed to a page that shows only the telephone number of the office. Well, no doubt it is a toll free number but I don’t even know how to call an American toll free number from Malaysia.

Sometimes, although online stores do not show that they accept PayPal, they do. There was once that I wanted to buy something and I emailed them asking if they accept payment by PayPal and my enquiry was replied almost instantly with the company’s PayPal email address.

In this case, my order was stuck and I could not even shoot them an email. In the end, I decided to charge my card.

It is weird that a commercial website does not have sufficient or missing contact information for customers to reach out to them. Catering to a worldwide customer base, they should at least provide at email address or a Contact web form so that we could make enquiries.

Anyway, I am now waiting for my purchases to arrive!
