Only in Chinese?
August 8, 2007 – 1:51 amThe other day, I received a brochure from a yoga studio in my mailbox. This studio has just opened for business near my house.
Unfortunately, the entire brochure was written in Chinese with some graphics. Why do I say it’s unfortunate? Because I don’t read Chinese and there are many people like me. They are essentially sidelining us as potential customers.
I’m sure that the brochure mentioned the benefits of yoga but when I can’t read it, I am not convinced and of course, I won’t even bother to check it out further. What an advertising boo boo. The owners could very well hire a translator or copywriter and get the brochure printed in English as well so that they could target as many potential customers as possible.
Or is it by design that they only want to do business with Chinese educated people? Whatever the case, this is Malaysia and they whether they realize or not, they ARE losing a vast percentage of potential clients.
