Sony Vaio For MYR1500 ONLY
August 16, 2007 – 5:06 amHave you heard about the guy who is selling Sony Vaio at MYR1500 each only? He has been advertising on eBay Malaysia and LowYat Forum recently. When people question his price, he says that these are “underwater” units, meaning they have been confiscated by the Customs for tax evasion and he has the connections.
Obviously, units like these do not come with warranty but not to worry, he is willing to provide one to one exchange for the first month.
Not too long ago, I was told that this man sold other big money electronic gadgets like handheld computers and LCD screens. Now the genius has found his gold mine in the Sony Vaio.
After a couple of weeks, Buyers realised that they have been fleeced. This was after they allowed time for delivery after they have made payment. They did not even sense anything at first because they were provided with tracking numbers. Only when they did not receive their purchase that they checked their shipment and realise that the IDs were fake.
The thing is, these people lost MYR1500 each and some find it troublesome or too afraid to lodge a police report. One victim lost MYR3000 because he “bought” two units.
Anyway, it an item is too cheap, you should ask yourself a thousand times if there is something so good for real. If it smells fishy, it probably IS fishy. Remember, once your money has left your hands, it is not going to be easy to get it back.
Yes, you can report to the police and the Consumer Affairs Ministry or Small Claims Tribunal but this is ONLY IF the particulars of the scammer are real.
