Why No Money In Account??
August 10, 2007 – 3:12 pmA reader asked me why I do not have money in my debit card and only deposit money when I needed to charge my card. Well, I did that on purpose. I do not have any bank account linked to my card by design so that I could control my spending. I do not want to go over budget which is bound to happen if I have ready cash on hand.
If I make it a little more inconvenient for myself, I would have to think a thousand times before making a charge to my card. I currently hold two cards, one in MYR and another in USD and boy, can I shop in Malaysia and America and all online shops that has either these two currencies listed.
As you can see, I am treading on dangerous grounds! And with PayPal…uh-oh, it’s so tempting to just indulge in shopping! So if I am required to make a deposit to my card physically, I would think ten times if I really NEED the items or if it’s just a spur of the moment thingy. So now you understand why I put myself to so much trouble!
