Ads Blind
September 14, 2007 – 8:30 amYou know, I visit many sites that are over loaded with advertisements, (BTW, I consider my blog to be mild) that I wonder if people actually do click on them, let alone notice them. Personally, I do not click on any ads (accidentally yes, voluntarily no) and I think that since I jumped on the internet bandwagon, I have not clicked on a Google Ad for more than five times voluntarily. Sometimes I feel like I am ad blind, even though I do not turn on my ad filter, and I wonder how many people are like me.
Some people say that they get annoyed when there are too many ads plastered all over the website or blog but to me, I treat them as part of the layout rather than part of content!
For local blog advertising companies, though, their database of advertisers is so small and they render ads from the same advertiser at the same time from all eligible member sites that once you clicked on one to check out the advertisement, you do not need to check other as another. So this is just a matter of timing. The first site that you come across with a new ad gets your click.

Well we all become blind to the ads at some point in time. I guess it is kinna like crickets chirping, they are there but your ears are so used to them that you do not hear them at all lol.

It’s true about the sound too! I think that as we grow older, we are more selective in what we choose to hear and see. This is especially true to men. No offence there!
