September 17, 2007 – 6:28 pmToday, I was introduced to a wonderful concept where if we buy an Emergency Medical Alert in the form of a bracelet, charm, pendant, watch or other jewelry, we can register with an online medical registry to keep our personal health records which we can access anywhere through the Internet or telephone. We would also be able to have free access to a registered nurse at anytime for emergencies or if we have doubts over some health concerns.
It is too bad that this service is only available in the United States. With so many kinds of diseases afflicting us, it is an excellent idea to be able to store our medical history, including living Will, x-Ray films and all related documentation. This is especially important when people are becoming more widely traveled. With this service which allows us access to our medical files anywhere, we no longer have to rely on our memory because our medical records are at home or with another doctor.
It is my hope that this service will be adopted by other countries sooner or later. The custom engraved personalized jewelry will be worth every dollar when it allows us this lifetime convenience for free.
