Chance Encounter
September 26, 2007 – 2:18 pmLast weekend, I met a neighbor of mine by chance. He was sent to a drug rehab center almost a year ago. His parents were of the old mindset and were totally against putting their son through a drug rehabilitation program and they came to seek my parents’ opinion.
My parents told them that they should follow the court order. There is hope in curing the boy from drugs and keeping him clean. We as adults need to give him that chance.
The old couple listened to the advice of my parents’ and decided to send the boy to the center. When I met him last weekend, he seemed like he is clean already but my parents said that they should not let him mix with old company.
I think that if they could, they should move out of the nieghborhood and start afresh in a new place. Do you think that former drug addicts can keep away from drugs after completing a drug rehab program?
