Feedback As A Gauge

September 20, 2007 – 3:18 am

Many potential buyers have often been told to check the feedback score of the Seller that they would like to buy from. While feedback score is a good gauge on the Seller as a serious Seller, there are some grey areas that the less experienced Buyers have to look out for.

Do see if the feedback is consistently of a particular item that the Seller is currently selling. Do check how long he has been registered and how many feedback he garnered as soon as he registered as a member. Also, what are the items that he has traded in the past few months? Are they cheap stuff that was traded to beef u his feedback score? What was the value of each of the items, then? Is feedback given by similar groups of people? Genuine sellers can never just sell to a handful of people and the feedback should reflect numerous different User IDs.

The rule of the thumb when buying online is that if an item is too good to be true, it most probably is!
