Local Companies Not Web Savvy

September 10, 2007 – 11:17 am

I have been a blogger for a few years now and have published a few thousand posts across my blogs. One thing I noticed that from all my posts that I wrote about local and international companies, nobody cares of the feedback that I gave on local companies. They don’t even know if people are satisfied or dissatisfied with their service or product.

On the other hand, whenever I write about an international company, and I have written on quite a few large ones based on my encounter with their staff and experiences in dealing with them, almost always somebody from this said company will somehow manage to find my blog posts even when I did not link up to the company.

I wonder how they found it. Perhaps they have a dedicated team of staff that searches for the company’s keywords on the major search engines and Ping services like Technorati on a daily basis.

Not only that, I have had rival companies come and read my post about their competitors.

I think that all companies should send their staff to scour the internet to check for feedback, positive or negative, so that they will know what aspects the company needs to improve on. This is the best and free way, unless they pay for people to review their product or website or pay for the services of the mystery shopper. But then, local companies are either really not web savvy or they are cheapos!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I would love to receive your comments! If you wish to be updated on new content, do subscribe to my RSS feed on your feed reader or via email. Thanks for visiting!
