PayPal’s Money Market Fund
September 18, 2007 – 8:52 amI read on a forum that PayPal has this Money Market Fund where people can deposit their PayPal funds as a high yield, low risk investment. I could not even find the link on PayPal so I had to Google it and came to this page. According to the site, their seven day average yield as of 9/6/2007 (6th Sept. 2007) achieved a competitive return of a whopping 5.23%.
The good thing is that there is no limit to the amount that we would like to invest as they even welcome $1. Unfortunately, till now, I cannot find the link to deposit money into the funds. I wonder if this is only open to American account holders.
Of course, 5.23% is a very good return but then we must realise that in any investment, as in business, there is a risk. The only difference is the level of risk.
If they are open to worldwide PayPal users, I would have invested some money too. At the current currency exchange rate of USD1 to MYR3.5XXX, this is the chance to let your money work for you.
