Public Bank Debit Visa Electron Card
September 20, 2007 – 2:34 pmI have a Public Bank Debit Visa Card which I used to verify my PayPal account. When my friend asked me for an opinion on what card to use to verify his account, I recommended him to use Public Bank Debit Visa Electron Card as well.
My friend uses his card a lot and he went to pay his Maxis and Celcom bill via the machine at the offices. I was told that these machines accept credit cards but somehow they do not accept his Visa Electron card.
Recently, my friend had a chance to let the people at Visa know that there is a problem with the system and the machines should be able to accept his Visa Electron card as well because this is a Visa card, even if it is only an electron card.
Well, the people at Visa got back to him to let him know that the problem actually lies in the card which is still using the old chip. According the Visa, we have to go to the issuing bank to request for a new card with a new chip technology and the machines will accept our cards without a problem.
If you are also facing this problem, you can replace your card and everything will be fine!
