Steep Price Hike
September 22, 2007 – 8:54 amToday, I called up the vet to ask if the dog food that I usually buy has arrived. They said yeah, it came, but the price is now MYR145. The previous price was MYR135 but the vet gave me a discount at MYR130. This time, I am getting MYR140.
I was surprised because of the huge MYR10 difference for a 7.5kg bag of dog biscuit. I am no good in mathematics and I do not know what is the percentage of the price hike but all I know is it is steep!
Is it inflation that causes the hike? This dog food is imported from France but I don’t see much difference in our currency exchange rate now from a month ago when I last bought a bag. Well, what to do? My dog needs the prescription food. I hope that his VetPlus Synoquin doesn’t go up. It’s imported from the UK. SIGH….
