Still No WebSite
September 6, 2007 – 8:19 amWell, my friend used to work in a multi-national company based in Kuala Lumpur. When he was still with them as a General Manager, I asked him if his company has any plans to set up a website. He said they are in progress and in fact already bought a domain name.
However, just now, I recalled our conversation and just checked on the domain name. It has been years already and my friend is no longer working with them. And guess what? Not only did they not build their website, they did not even renew their domain name.
We all know that having a website increases the company’s reach to customers and potential customers alike so it is very important to have a web presence.
No doubt, being a multi-national company, they do have a website of their headquarters but they do not have a local web presence which I feel is equally important.
I do not know what the logic is behind them shelving their website project, not that they are unable to put that into their budget, but shelf it they did. I think it is a shame for a company not to claim its domain name and claim a spot in the world wide web as soon as possible.
