They Just Want Our Money
September 22, 2007 – 7:47 pmSince the beginning of the year till now, local gas companies have been running one contest after another trying to entice us to spend money on gas. Gas is not cheap here even though the G keeps claiming that it is already “subsidised”. Yeah right, why is it still so pricey when we are an oil producing country? And no, we do no need reassurance from the G that there will be no price hike this year. They promised us at the beginning of the year and we expect them to keep to their word, until the GE, that is!
So, this latest contest is held by Shell, and they are giving away eight trips to Formula One races at the end of the year. Exciting enough? Then spend MYR30 on Shell products for an entry to the contest.
I find it amusing that for the grand prize package, the winner gets to choose the race of choice from Bahrain, Malaysia, Spain, Turkey and Great Britain. Will there be someone so dumb as to select Malaysia? If I were the winner, I would select Great Britain and then “jump plane” after the race! Blehhh!
Hah… but I will not be entering the contest. I never win anything, anyway!
