Tsunami Scam

September 21, 2007 – 7:42 pm

Trust these scammers to be on the ball. I received an email last night from a Chinese sounding name whom I bet sent out this mail en mass. Well, apparently, we have relatives who unfortunately perished in the Tsunami tragedy BUT good news to us, the deceased left us a small fortune and we can get it if we write an email to this person with a Hotmail.com email address and furnish a total stranger with our personal particulars.

Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against Hotmail except that I can’t retrieve it from my mobile device without going through the web but for official correspondence like this, I expect to write to an official address.

If the above scenario does not look familiar then you will need to read up more Nigerian Scam 419 from my blogs. High entertainment value there. Just joking!

Anyway, this “Chinese” must be thinking it is so easy to catch water fish and I bet there are people gullible enough to get caught by them him too. Well, knowledge may be power but greed is the downfall of some men (and women too).
