BAD NEWS: 200% Increment!!!!
October 19, 2007 – 12:15 amToday, I received a letter from my foreign bank informing me that beginning November, 2007, my transaction with them that I pay 1% to use has been increased to 3%. That means an increment of 200%!!! Can you say “TOO MUCH” or can you say “TOO MUCH”??
If you think that an extra 2% is chicken feed, then think of it this way.
US$100 = US$3
US$1000 = US$30
US$10000 = US$300
Based on today’s currency exchange rate of 1 USD = 3.36563 MYR, this means that for every US$100 transacted, I would lose MYR10, for every US$1000, I would be paying MYR100 and so on.
US$100 = US$3 = MYR10.10
US$1000 = US$30 = MYR100.97
US$10000 = US$300 = MYR1009.69
Compare this with what I am currently paying (1%)
US$100 = US$1 = MYR3.37
US$1000 = US$10 = MYR33.66
US$10000 = US$100 = MYR336.57
This is bad news to me and all who are holding the same account
