Comcast Offers Blazing High Speed Internet Connection

Do you know that I was surprised when my sister told me that she is still using dial up internet access? I mean, she is in the United States, and they still have dial up there? Even though I am in Malaysia, I am enjoying broadband internet access. Although speed isn’t that fast at least I have an always-on unlimited plan.

Today, I was told of a promotion that Comcast is running. I checked out their plans and my jaw almost dropped. Their slowest and cheapest high speed internet plan offers a speed of 6.0 Mbps and it is only US$42.95 per month. If I am not mistaken, my sister pays half of that for her dial up but what is the use when the speed is crawling and she practically cannot do much except to browse the internet a bit, chat a little and email? I would be pulling my hair out already, and I remember doing exactly that five years ago when I was still on dial-up.

I read that Comcast high speed internet beat Verizon DSL in test speed. While I don’t have experience with Comcast yet, my friend Paul is on a Verizon package and chatting with me online, you would be surprised that during peak hours, he would get kicked out so many times. There was once I even asked him if he did not pay his bills!! Of course he was not amused

I am going to let my sister know about Comcast and get her to subscribe to a broadband plan so that we can play with webcam! According to the website of Comcast, if she takes out a Comcast bundled package that includes digital voice plan and/or cable TV, she would save more money. I wonder what programs are available on their cable TV. Just last week, my sister said she would like to subscribe to cable TV that has Cantonese serials because she misses them! Haha!
