Invitation To Be PowerSeller
October 23, 2007 – 12:06 amMonths ago, a few of my eBaying colleagues were telling me that they received invitations from eBay to be PowerSellers. They did question the authenticity of the invites because their trading volume weren’t that great and according to the website of eBay we need to hit a minimum in trade volume for three consecutive months before we are invited to upgrade our status on eBay.
Frankly, with the minimum sales volume in USD, it is almost impossible for a local eBayer to reach that amount. That was how the doubt over the authenticity of the emails arose.
A couple of days ago, I myself received on similar email. Check the screenshot. The tow hyperlinks in the email do not take us to the genuine eBay homepage but to some other phishing site. I hovered my cursor over them out of curiosity but I shall not include them here in case someone clicks on them by accident.
If you received any email message purportedly from eBay, be sure not to click on the links in the message. Any genuine message will always appear in the messaging system of your account once you are logged in to one of the paid eBay site.
