Keeping It Short & Simple

October 27, 2007 – 6:00 pm

If you have been keeping track of the online auction world OR read my other blog, you would know that a new online site has just launched. The problem is that the URL is one foot long, who would remember it? And if they do remember it, because it is a common phrase, who would spell it correctly enough to type it on the search bar assuming that they did not bookmark it.

Also, I went to check it out and it’s so quite although the owners have spent quite a lot of money on it. Quite is OK since it is new BUT what I hate is that the site automatically searches for items in my vicinity and keeps popping up an error message which says that they could not find anything that is in “Kuala Kangsar”.

For one, I am not in Kuala Kangsar and I hate pop up messages like this because my location is irrelevant. The internet is a borderless world and it does not matter where I am from because could still make purchases on this site as long as the Seller is willing to ship international, not that there are anything there to buy also, for the time being.

And when I talk about keeping it short and simple, I mean the domain name, like eBay and Lelong, both are two-syllable words.

Hello and welcome to my blog. I would love to receive your comments! If you wish to be updated on new content, do subscribe to my RSS feed on your feed reader or via email. Thanks for visiting!
