Last Minute Shoppers

October 25, 2007 – 6:14 am

Every year, I would be faced with last minute shoppers who would be frantically looking for a gift just a day or two before Christmas. I don’t understand why there are people like this. They KNOW that such and such a date is a gift giving day so why not spend a little time to think of a more appropriate gift than rush out and grab the first gift he or she can lay hands of.

Is this gift-giving gesture and after-thought? I hope it is not because gift giving is certainly not obligatory and just because someone gave you a gift does not mean that you MUST reciprocate.

It certainly is not easy to handle last minute shoppers. For sure, I would de bombarded with text messages the whole day because this gift-give is afraid that the item will not reach the recipient on time. Hah! Talk about timing!

I remember one year, this guy bought a set of lingerie on Christmas day itself. I had to gift warp it and ended up hand deliver it because nobody could ship a package within hours except me, of course.

Anyway, if you plan on getting a gift, please plan early to avoid problems later.
