They Don’t Want My Business Again

October 5, 2007 – 6:25 pm

If you have been following my blog, you will know that I have a series of articles on companies that don’t want the business I give them, as shown by their attitude and the way they handle my enquiry.

Last week, I sent a proposal to a company hoping to give them my business worth four figures in Ringgit. I sent my first mail out and it was not replied to. Fine, I resent the same email to them giving the benefit of the doubt that somehow the email was lost in somewhere in the virtual world.

I did not get a response after a couple of days. I saw the owner and asked him if he did receive my email with my proposal and he said he did. He also said that he would have to discuss my proposal wit his partner which I am fine with. He said that he would let me know two days later, on Wednesday morning. So I said, fine, just drop me an email.

Well, it’s now Friday evening and I am not getting a decision from him. As a business person myself, I always believe that we have to be true to our word. When a promise is made for a decision on Wednesday morning, give it to me on Wednesday morning then, whether the decision is positive or negative. If you need more time to discuss my proposal with your partner, staff or even family and friends, TELL ME SO.

By this silence, I am taking that they are turning my proposal down. I don’t need them to let me know in writing, they actions speak louder. So I am taking my business elsewhere.

Now, I am not saying that my business is huge. Business is business no matter the size. Plus, business is a long term relationship which can grow and that would mean more money spent on the company.

Am I wrong to think this way?
