Trust In A Brand Name
November 12, 2007 – 12:06 amA friend of mine asked me if my mobile device is a good buy for her. I told her no. I also suggested that she wait for the new device to hit town within the month because my friend got his grubby hands on a review unit and he says that it totally rocks and perfect for blogging. Now, he’s not even a blogger so why does he want to continue using it? Finish reviewing it already and pass it over to me!!!
I have no idea how much it will cost since it will only be launched in Asia tomorrow but with a 5MP camera and a reputation as an iPhone killer, I do not expect it to be cheap. My friend told me that it beats the iPhone. Wait till I get my iPhone first then we compare, OK?
Anyway, as soon as my friend, the one who is looking for a mobile device because her PDA died, heard of the brand name, she said that it does not sound cool.
See, no matter what a great product you have, if you do not have a good reputation, most people will not even give you a chance to perform. This is the same case where a friend told me to get myself an LCD screen from a certain manufacturer and I turned down the idea.
Whatever it is, it takes time to build a company’s reputation and change the mindset and perception of the general consumer.
